Tentative List of songs to go on Demo

Hey guys. Here is a list of the songs that I believe will give us a well-rounded, various-sounding eclectic demo to appeal to the masses!

Space Fish
Exhaling Dreams

Order of songs to be determined once all of the songs are finished. With this line-up, I think our first album will destroy anything that is out there!!! Please let me know if you have any concerns.

That is an ambitious list, but I like it. I think the key is going to be to pair them to where we are telling a story that flows, and not make it seem like we are taking the audience in 100 different directions. I think this is do-able.

sorry, ive been out all day with jen. but ive been meaning to get back.
i think its a good set, but its over the original 7 songs, and would cost more to record.

Yeah, Johnny brought that to my attention. How about we choose which 7 we want to sound the best and record those with Misha, then the remaining two we can do our best to get the best quality recording through you David. How does that sound?

hey guys,

i heard the newest mixdown of space fish, sounds great!
i think its definatley going in a great direction.
but, after the intro, into the key and dynamic changes, sounds like everything falls out of the pocket and groove.
but overall, it sounds great.
and some of those drum fills sound really intresting. very precise and linear sounding.

is that programmed or did you play that live? i really cant tell LOL. you really captured your style with drum mapping if that is programmed.

i want to kind of ditch mecha biscuits, i dont like my guitar work on it at all. i sound like john petrucci's guitar tech.

asoc is great, but in my opinion it sounds old school.

been very busy with work.
sorry for ignored phone calls. been very cranky and sore all week.
i really want to play shows too, but no money or reliable transportation.
things should be getting better for me here soon.
trying to get a new car soon.

then i can come up anytime.

but i really need to be working saturdays now that i think about it.
ive been really broke since i started the band and this job. and saturdays i make $150 a shift! super busy.
thats 3 days of work in one shift.
its really the most benificial thing for me and the band too if i work on the weekends.
most of the challenges i face with being in the band right now are financial.
so if we could compromise and practice on the weekdays? that would be perfect.

if not, then i have to wait til i can practice. work weekends til i can afford a new car, recording costs ect.

Hey David. With regards to Space Fish, I know what you are talking about, and am 100% positive that it works and doesn't fall out of the pocket. The drums and bass change where the accentuations of the guitar are placed, which gives it the illusion of being "off." Just trust us! It may have been the recording too, because it definitely works live.

Mechabiscuits is a solid start to a song I believe, and I actually thought that your backing guitar part was very intuitive and creative. I don't think we should trash it just yet. Let's work on it some more playa, and give it a chance!

A.S.o.C. to me also brings a different dynamic to our already wide spectrum of sounds. Yes some parts sound "old-school", but that was the point of those sections. To give listeners a familiar sound portrayed in a different light.

I know that it is quite a different sound when compared to the rest of these songs, and if that is the problem, then just let us know. We all know that you've put a lot of time into creating a style that you love, and from my perspective, if we have more sounds in the demo, we show more diversity, but on the other hand, if you'd like to try and stay more towards to TMoS/David sound, we can do that too! We are all three with you, just lead the way David!

Side Note: If you ever come up with ideas for songs, but don't want to program drums for fear of me not liking them, just go ahead and do it anyways! Since we haven't been getting together we need you to continue writing just as we have attempted too!
